The new owners of this home had ambitious goals: a complete kitchen renovation, opening it to the adjacent dining and living rooms; creating a new kids’ bathroom and converting an existing hall bath into an ensuite; and excavating below the main floor to create a playroom and entirely new basement living space, including a bar and home theater. The final design leveraged the strengths of the existing plan and required careful coordination with our structural engineer. The newly opened kitchen extends sightlines the entire length of the main floor, and the finishes and eclectic furnishings, chosen by the owners, bring their own personalities into the house.
