ardley avenue phase 1

The program for this Oakland bungalow was to renovate and expand a small kitchen, renovate both bathrooms, and re-organize a poorly laid-out plan downstairs. By shifting the adjacent main floor bathroom, we were able to expand the kitchen by two feet, gaining valuable countertop and cabinet space. The opening between kitchen and living room was enlarged for natural light and views, and a bank of custom floor-to-ceiling cabinets was added to make up for the lack of a coat closet at the entry foyer. One of the owners is an artist and art teacher, and she took the lead on selecting the artful wall and floor tiles, cabinet pulls, and paint colors.
